40 Films to Watch for the 2022 Oscars

The 93rd Academy Awards are still to come in this torturously-long season, but with many of the major races already decided, let’s jump ahead a year and look at next year’s ceremony! ‘The Mauritanian’ Film Review: Dull Enlightenment

The Mauritanian (2021) is a legal drama film from director Kevin Macdonald, based on a true story. It stars Jodie Foster as an attorney who fights for the release of a suspected terrorist (Tahar Rahim) from Guantanamo Bay. The film was a late bloomer and one of the few remaining unknowns of awards season, and is now majorly on the map after Jodie Foster surprised in Supporting Actress at the Golden Globes.
