As another excellent year (and decade) of cinema leaves us, we can always look to the future to see what is on the horizon! As loaded as 2019 was, 2020 is looking even better with several big-name directors releasing their latest projects. What films from the next twelve months look enticing? What could be the big Oscar players of next year?
As we draw near the end of the decade, I’ve been looking back at the past ten years of cinema and gathering my thoughts on each film released within each of them. In the leadup to my Best Films of the 2010’s list, I will also be sharing a Top 10 for every year this decade that I didn’t get a chance to before starting this blog. So here are my top 10 films of 2010!
Earlier this week, a Twitter thread posed a simple question to the world: What is your favorite film from each year of the past decade? I found the question a compelling one, not only to gauge what people think of cinema in general over the past 10 years but how people rank the various films within each year. I of course chimed into the debate, and wanted to share my thoughts on each year below.
